MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO (STL.Directory) Sasi Thai Market is hosting a Street Food Event this Saturday and Sunday, February 24th and 25th, from 11 am to 2 pm.
Sasi Thai Market is a new food market specializing in Thai food ingredients for customers who are Thai or enjoy cooking Thai food. All food ingredients sold are imported from Thailand.
What is Street Food?
As the name implies, it is usually cooked, served, and eaten on the sidewalks, allies, or on the side of an interstate or country road. Many will set up a restaurant out of the front side of their house. There are more street food vendors than traditional restaurants. The food is better and substantially cheaper.
The Sasi Thai Market Street Food Event will serve food that resembles Bangkok street food, but the atmosphere can’t be duplicated. The picture used in the header of this article is a street food market taken by the owner, Sasimonthon Ongartsutthikul, of Sasi Thai Market, who also owns the popular Thai Kitchen family-owned chain across the St. Louis region.
Additionally, she will be opening Thai Mama in Maryland Heights, MO, in March 2024.
Why is she using a new brand? She opened a Thai Kitchen in Maryland Heights in 1999 and later sold it to her sister, who sold it to an unrelated party. She lives in Maryland Heights and wants to return to the community, offering her award-winning Thai cuisine. Therefore, to avoid confusing the community, she calls the new location “Thai Mama.”
